Bernardaud

Limoges porcelain is a hard paste porcelain produced since 1771 in various factories in the city of Limoges and in general in the Haute-Vienne department. In 1767 a kaolin deposit was discovered in Saint-Yrieix-la-Perche, near Limoges, a material necessary for the production of hard paste porcelain. It was this discovery that changed the history of Limoges and made it the capital of French ceramics. By decision of the Limoges commercial court of 1962, the name "Limoges" is reserved for porcelain manufactured and decorated in Limoges. For more than 150 years Bernardaud has been constantly at the forefront of the production techniques and decorations of the splendid Limoges porcelain.
